Over the last 30 years, dozens of English and Welsh clubs have left their century-old homes for modern stadiums, and most of the old grounds were flattened soon after. Some of them are easy to guess, like the housing estates that now cover Roker Park and Ayresome Park. Others are more surprising: Burnden Park is an Asda, Underhill is a secondary school and Vetch Field is a community park with an allotment. This map plots 17 of these grounds from a Daily Mirror Football gallery, with a short note on what stands on each site today.
